There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease in 2019. The following measures can be taken to prevent infection:
1. Avoid contact with wild animals, birds and their droppings.
2. Avoid physical contact with others.
(1)Avoid going to high-endemic areas or crowded public places, for reducing the chance of contact with the affected people.
(2)Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms and Keep at least 1 meter or 3 feet away.
(3)Discourage handshake, cheek greetings and hugs.
3. Wear a mask if you need to go out. It is an effective way to block the spread of respiratory secretions.
(1)You can choose: N95 Mask, Surgical Mask, Disposable Medical Mask.
(2)When wearing a mask, fully unfold the surface, completely cover the mouth, nose, and jaw, and then press the nose clip to ensure the mask fit the face.
(3)Masks should be changed regularly, and the inside and outside should not be worn upside down.
(4)You can also choose to wear Goggles, Disposal Gloves, Helmets, Face Shield, Protective Coverall, Disposable Jacket, and other protective equipment to further reduce the risk of infections transmitted through contact.
4. Maintain good personal hygiene
(1)Keep hands clean and wash your hands frequently, especially before eating, after using the washroom, going out, contacting with garbage and animals.
(2)Wash your hands with running water and soap, and scrub for more than 20 seconds. If water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol, cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
(3)Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth directly with unwashed hands, especially after contacting public facilities. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or elbow when coughing and sneezing.
(4)Proper cleaning of the nasal cavity.
(5)Use paper towels or disposable wet wipes to touch and clean surfaces.
5. Clean and disinfect
(1)The COVID-19 virus can be killed for 30 minutes at 56 degrees. Heat-resistant products can be sterilized by boiling or heating for 30 minutes.
(2)Fat-soluble disinfectants, such as 75% alcohol, chlorine-containing disinfectants, chloroform, ether, iodine, and peroxides can also kill the virus. It is recommended to choose 75% alcohol and iodophor for skin disinfection. For household disinfection, you can configure a chlorine-containing disinfectant to a solution with an effective chlorine concentration of 250 to 500 mg / L for spraying, wiping or soaking furniture.
(3)The COVID-19 virus is also sensitive to ultraviolet light. UV lamps can be used as simple tools for household disinfection. After the room is disinfected by ultraviolet rays, it should be ventilated for 30 minutes.
(4)Clean your home thoroughly at least every two weeks. When the floor or the surface of the article is contaminated with respiratory secretions, vomit or excreta, the visible dirt should be removed with a strong absorbent disposable rag, and then the contaminated area and its vicinity should be disinfected with a suitable disinfectant.
(5)Regular ventilation to ensure indoor air circulation.
6. Maintain a healthy lifestyle
(1)Strengthen physical exercise to improve immunity. Keep diversity for indoor exercise, recommend to do 15-20 minutes of indoor fitness everyday.
(2)Smoking less, avoid alcohol.
7. Seek medical attention promptly
(1)Monitor your temperature with a thermometer if you feel unwell.
(2)If you have symptoms of respiratory tract infection such as fever, cough or difficulty breathing, seek medical attention and call in advance.
8. Take steps to protect others
(1)Avoid close contact and stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care.
(2)If you are sick, you should wear a facemask when you are around other people. If you are not able to wear a facemask, then you should do your best to cover your coughs and sneezes.
(3)Avoid spitting in public. Throw tissue into closed bin immediately after use.
(4)Share previous travel history with your health care provider if you have fever, cough, and difficulty breathing.
